Local News of National Import

It's weird when you get news about your community from a national news source. Sadly, that happened today to this Madison, WI resident:

Reluctantly, a Daily Stops Its Presses, Living Online (New York Times)

Was I the only one who hadn't heard about this? I'm not a very good local news consumer, so I guess I'm part of the problem at work here.

We'll miss you, Cap Times.

I don't see the problem. If anything they should be congratulated for being so pro-active. Let's face it, the printed page is a dying medium.

I remember seeing some news special about some major newspaper no longer printing the previous day's stocks. I was shocked that they even still printed that stuff, but everyone seemed to be bemoaning the change.

Welcome to the 21st century, old people.

I read the paper almost exclusively online, so I appreciate your point, Jim. I guess I just take some comfort in knowing it's there on paper if I need it.

Plus I can't abide by electronic crossword puzzles. Some things just are not meant to be.
